Some odd features - check suitability before you buy.

You may think there is little to say about a 3U 19" flightcase... but there are a few design elements that you should be aware of.
1. It has no rear mounting strips, only front. This surprised me as I intended to mount equipment/panels front and back and have never encountered an enclosure without rear mounting strip.
2. It has sliding captive nuts, not caged nuts. This is an interesting and unusal approach. It would be challenging to mount devices vertically but the case is small so you can place it on a horizontal surface (table/floor), position the sliding nuts then install the panels. It was easy enough for the first panel but the last one may require more acurate positioning of the sliding nut before panel placement.
3. Aluminium mounting strip. There may be a risk that the extruded aluminium is less robust than steel panel with caged nuts so consider the weight of the installed equipment.
4. The catches are not as reassuring as butterfly catches which may be a concern when carrying with the only handle that is on the front panel.
5. It comes with a warning about risk of the feet reacting with materials and staining them which will add to anxiety when visiting some venues.
It isn't the most sturdy box and I would worry about its ability to protect expensive equipment over long periods of general roadie-style abuse but it will provide sufficiently safe haven for my devices being carefully transported by me.
I would only recommend this for such lighter use and suggest you consider the warnings above to ensure it best suits your needs. You can get more traditional cases for just a little more.
I regret this purchase but will keep it and make the best of what I have. It isn't a bad product. It simply isn't quite what I expected. I should have spent longer inspecting the pictures and specification which would most likely have informed me of much of this. Of course Thomann are an excellent supplier with good returns policy but the cost of returning it from UK to Germany is probably too high.

Great price, questionable quality, but it does the job
LukasRisbourg 06.12.2022
Pros:
-cheap
-very lightweight
-the wood itself is actually sturdy for the price
-the handle is very handy!
cons:
-the screws that hold the thing together are litterally visable inside the case, so the buildquality is not that good. Which is expected for the pricepoint.

Bought this one for stationary use in home-studio and occasional taking gear out to town. Pro's : It fits the budget for this. Quality is OK, fittings fit, seems sturdy. Cons : The snap-locks will have to prove them selves on the road. All in all recommendable for light use.
