A more neutral take on the increasingly popular V7 from sE electronic. Same microphone, different colour. If you're familiar with the V7, this won't be any different.
Sounds amazing and very detailed. Quite flat, I'd say. Definitely much better than the "standard" 58, especially in the low-end. It also extends very high, giving it a natual airiness.
The grille has a hexagonal shape to prevent the mic from rolling, if its put on a surface, which is quite nice and will probably save some dents.
The built quality feels sturdy enough, I guess. But the competitors (shure, sennheiser) just feels a little more premium, though I have no doubt this will last a very long time.
Maybe it's the way the capsule is suspended? It feels fragile, I think.
And as a lot of people has mentioned, it smells quite weird in the beginning (probably because of the rubber suspension holding the capsule) so it might be a little disconcerning. How I've found using it a few times on stage doing full concerts, it goes away.
Also, one negative would be the plosive and handling noise. Handling is average at best. But the plosives are really quite noticable if you haven't got a trained signer/speaker. The SM58 and others just do it much better imo.
This is all made up for in the sound quality, though! Certainly for the price.
All in all, very nice mic. A very modern mic, that outperforms the competition in the price class, especially in sound quality/clarity and feedback rejection. And now with even better looks.
