Excellent Value for money
IbbyG 23.11.2019
My first experience with Harley Benton, I am positively impressed. Finishing and attention to detail rivals guitars at double, triple, quadruple price point (Epiphone, Gibson, Ovation, Ibanez and Fender). Plays very nicely. Pickups really impressive. Played it with Marshall Code 100H and 412 cab. Awesome rich sound.
Good quality case. Almost as good as the Ovation case with my double neck.
Cons
- no separate vol and tone controls for 12 and 6 strings.
- a common challenge with all double necks; space tight between the two head stocks makes it difficult to use my Roadie 1 or Roadie 2 auto tuners.

I must thank all the reviews on YouTube.

22 January 2020 Update
Having played this awesome unique instrument for quite sometime, I have the following observations:
- though easy to tune, the 12 string G strings seem to be quite impossible to tune; either they are in tune when open, or at the 12 fret but not both.
- Of all the 14 guitars I own, the neck on both 12 and 6 strings easily twists, affecting the tuning - I have to be careful when playing to avoid this.
Again, excellent value for money, and one of my favorite instruments of choice

Fantastic!
RedTooth 14.10.2024
I'm a child of the 70's, and LedZep has always been my number one band. As a guitarist/singer in cover bands throughout the 80's/90's, I always secretly lusted after Page's 6/12 doubleneck, but even the Epi was way out of my ability to buy. From watching numerous Youtube reviews of the Harley Benton DC 6/12 doubleneck, I decided on impulse to order and pay for it with last year's tax refund. All I can say is...WOW!!! It arrived fast, and when I took it out of its packing carton, I was blown away by the hardshell HB CASE immediately (that alone is almost the price of the name-brand axe's cases). I opened it, and just gazed on it as it stood inclined in its case, letting it acclimate as the temp outside was still a bit chilly. I let it sit for about a week, as I had little time to devote to tuning it up/checking it out in-depth. When I committed to it, I will say that the weight was pretty much what I expected, but I was amazed at how good it felt sitting on my lap. I used a chromatic tuner, and it took only maybe five minutes to get it right. Immediately, I began to play the chords to the "universally-forbidden song in guitar shops", and I actually got emotional...the intonation/action was SPOT-ON, out of the case! What a beautiful, chiming tone the Roswell p'ups provide, playability is an absolute joy, and the fit/finish is nothing short of amazing...at this price, what a fantastic value - Harley Benton hit this one out of the park!

LE
Harley Benson & Thomann
Long Earth Neil 03.05.2017
What can I say - awesome start to finish!
Starting with Thomann, order placed and 5 days later (with a holiday weekend in between) guitar was delivered to UK. Not only that but the communications and order tracking was second to none! Highly recommended!

OK, the Harley Benton DC-Custom 612... I was skeptical about Harley Benton being cut price copies but, YouTube research and chats with friends who own put my mind at rest. This is one truly beautiful guitar both in looks and sounds. Looks, a beautiful well finished cherry glaze on a solid mahogany body & neck, quality pups and hardware. In terms of sound, everything you'd expect from a Gibbo but at a tenth of the price! The 12 string is crisp, clear and jangly and the 6 string equally so but gutsy as hell when you kick in an overdrive amp setting!
The one downside, stating the bleeding obvious, this is one hell of a head / neck heavy guitar. Well duh, it's got two necks! This is not a negative, just need to adjust your playing style a bit to hold the neck up - or rest it on your knee for a VERY comfortable play. Overall, for the chunk of wood and hardware, it's surprisingly light.
Final thing, it comes with a custom hard case which, in itself, would be worth £60 - £100 to buy.
Any doubters should give this, or Harley Benton in general, a real chance - a LOT of instrument for your cash!

DS
Bucket List Item...Check!
Dj Shadowfall 15.05.2020
I can't even begin to describe the feeling I had when this beauty arrived and I got to feast my eyes on my very own 6/12 double neck. I have coveted one for more years (decades) than I should admit to, but was always put off by the price tag. Yes, it can be a little clumsy and head-heavy, but that comes with the territory. The quality is really good, the setup was really nice out of the box and it's just gorgeous. The sound coming off the Roswell humbuckers is pretty damn good and I don't see myself feeling the need to change them out, The Grover tuners may not be the top of the line models, but hold tune quite nicely. So far, I have only used it in a studio setting, but it has stood up very well in that environment. Thank you for helping my cross off a life long bucket list item, I never thought I would have one.

MI
Amazing guitar!
MJR Initiative 25.02.2020
I love this guitar! I am a professional musician that plays three and four hour gigs. So I needed a guitar I can rely on when the pressure is on. I bought this guitar, because, I've always wanted a double neck and didn't want to pay 10,000 for a Gibson. I received the guitar and the finish was absolutely gorgeous. The frets where nice and the pickups sang. This guitar is so much clearer and richer sounding than the Epiphone double necks I've tried. The 12 string neck is thick like a baseball bat, but, comfortable and the 6 string neck is thin and fast. The tone is thick and punching on high gain and angelic on clean. My only complaint was the fret board was a little dirty and the stock strings were as well when I unboxed it. No big deal. About five mins of cleaning and a new pack of strings fixed that. I am now using this guitar to record my next album as well as play gigs. I definitely would recommend this guitar to anyone. Whether you are a seasoned professional or a beginner that loves Led Zeppelin. This guitar is for you.

S
Very High quality double neck!
Sailmac 29.04.2023
I purchased this on a whim. Do I really need a double neck? It's been a dream of mine to have the similar gibson model but the price is so astronomical that I could never get one. I have purchased 7 other Harley Benton guitars and all of them are very high quality so with that and the reviews I had read and seen on youtube I decided to get one when they came back in stock. I can't say enough how this guitar has met and exceeded my expectations of how nice of a guitar this is. I checked the relief on the neck as well as intonation and all was perfect. and I just had to lower the bridge a little to where I like it. I may invest in locking tuners for this as 18 strings is no small task when changing them but other than that this guitar is perfect for a dc doubleneck at less than 1/10th the price of others. If you can afford one and are on the fence about it I'd say "Buy the Guitar!" It's a great deal!!!

Exactly what I was hoping it would be!
Trogdor the Burninator 26.07.2020
I shopped around for a double neck for quite some time before deciding to go with the Harley Benton. I haven't had one of their guitars before, but figured why not start with the double neck! It's really a great guitar. Only negatives are some minor finish flaws, little sloppy paint at the neck binding, but no checking or cracking of the finish at the important spots, behind the nut, set neck joints, etc. If you are thinking of buying this and hoping it "won't be too heavy" don't get a double neck, haha. It's just as heavy as you'd expect. Also case was cracked on arrival, but I'll blame the shipper.
Positives, the thing sounds awesome! Especially the neck pickup on the 12 string and the bridge on the 6. The tuning stability has been fantastic, which was my biggest concern.
I'm using it in a classic rock cover band for the Eagles tunes, feels good to pretend to be Don Felder for a little while!
TL:DR - Surely the best double neck you can get without going broke!

G
A No Brainer Deal!
Gerald1695 16.12.2015
Been wanting a doubleneck for sometime, but cant afford an Epiphone($1k), much less a Gibson($3K)! Already had 6 Harley Bentons that I was more than pleased with, so at $489 USD shipped it was a no brainer. First the cons:1. Binding is cream and nut on 12 string is cream, but nut on 6 string neck is white, and both dont look like they are bone, but plastic. No big deal, cuz they work and are cut well. 2. 6 string neck is EXTREMELY narrow, but really don't consider this a flaw considering this guitar has 2 necks and 18 strings. Just need to get used to it 3 .A few tiny finish flaws but ya can't see them from a foot away. Now the pros: 1. Construction is excellant 2.Fit is very nice and finish is nice over all 3. Excellant hardware and appointments 4. Sound is amazing 5.Feels and plays great 6. Grover tuners keep excellant tune 7. Did I mention this was only $489 USD shipped? If you want a quality, beautiful, excellant sounding and playing doubleneck, but cant afford an Epiphone, buy this guitar!

Can't find better for the money
Nick1234323 02.05.2017
There are slight cons in this guitar but those don't matter when you look at the cost of it. The Grover tuners alone cover around 1/4th of the price. It feels great and sounds great. It is quite heavy but that is to be expected. If you're someone who plays live you would only be using this for a song or two. I only had two issues with mine out of the box. The first being slight fret buzz on the upper frets on the 6 string, but that can be fixed somewhat easily. And the second being the finish on the head stock of the 12 string, well there are some obvious flaws there. But from a distance you can't really tell and it still looks gorgeous. If you're looking for a double neck then go no further than this unless you want to spend over a grand for the epiphone one, or way more than that for the Gibson.
