Play in two folk rock bands and Considerably a new PA purchase. After a bit of research I decided that the LD Maui 28 G3 was the best PA system for our needs and that Thomann was the best price.
We've been using a pair of Mackie powered speakers on stands and an analogue or digital mixer plus we've added 2 subs that need a separate power amp. And we've had several monitors on stage too. A lot of kit to carry & set up and a lot of cabling too! The stage gets very cluttered.
This LD system has made life so much easier! One set up is providing enough power for any pub gig we are likely to do and the wide spread of clear transparent sound fills the space. We have reduced our monitoring as with careful positioning the band can hear more or less what the audience hear and it also seems to be fairly feedback resistant. Considerably less boxes to carry, (although the sub is quite heavy) and much, much less in way of cables.
Sound is very good indeed; clear and transparent and the sub does the job although our bass player brings a backline amp, as much for his benefit than the FOH sound.
Overall we're very happy and would highly recommend. Our lead guitarist has been a sound engineer all his working life and he's pretty impressed...so that's enough endorsement for me!
One additional thing, I bought the bundle which includes nice quality cover for the sub and case for the columns....you'll really need these to protect your new kit. Anyway a flaw with the column case was quickly dealt with by Thomann, who sent me a replacement case without further question, after I reported the problem with photos that clearly showed the flaw. Very impressed. Thanks Thomann!!
