Sonor JoJo Mayer Single Pedal

I bought this a couple years ago and used only occasionally - unfortunately the pedal doesn't grab the edge of the bass drum hoop very well, and if you tighten the hoop clamp harder it folds by itself while playing. Believe me, it is NOT something you want to experience in the middle of a gig.

I reported the problem to Thomann and Sonor, but unfortunately it was just past the warranty and sending it back to Germany for post-warranty repair turned out prohibitively expensive. So I'm stuck with a very expensive and not usable pedal.

The combined folding and hoop-grabbing mechanism may be a great idea on paper, but in practice it invites technical problems as I have painfully found out.

Pity, because I play a lot of slides and the perfectly smooth surface of this pedal is really unique, I would love to use it if it was more sturdy and reliable.
