small and punchy!
philclassic 04.12.2017
good little monitor, great for vocal clarity, the 70WATTS RMS is very loud out of this 8'' gem. it is very quiet when turned on, no noticeable hissing, and what amazed me was the vocal sweet spot to my ears averages around 100-120 degrees left to right, and you can sing over the monitor and 6-10 ft back with full projection of your vocal! this being said make sure you don't have to much volume/gain on the mic as you will incur a slightly higher chance of feedback. The monitor has enough punchy bass notes at around the 70 hz range and is enough, plenty of mid range and high notes too. But all in all i am very impressed with this monitor and have now purchased another one. The handle needs a re-think as it's a very basic luggage style design, but no real problems here. (p.s) DO NOT BUY THE THOMANN COVER !!! IT REALLY IS RUBBISH AND I MEAN RUBBISH. IT NEEDS A TOTAL RE-DESIGN!!! AS IT ONLY COVERS ONE SIDE OF THE MONITOR AS IT SLIPS ON SIDEWAYS ? buy a padded zipped dj lighting case instead. cheers everyone phil (uk)

A
Great little monitor.
Anonymous 04.04.2014
I play in a five piece band playing rock/pop with lead and 2 backing vocals in pubs and the occasional club. We are often playing small venues and are cramped up for space, so even though we were worried about the size of this thing and whether it would be loud enough, we took the gamble and bought one.

We are very pleased with this monitor. It has proved itself loud enough for our needs, and it is very small and light. It just has a volume control, so there's no messing about with settings on it, you just eq the sound from the mixer.

We are seriously considering buying another one to position at the back of the stage for the drummer. (It's not a slight on the unit, I reckon any monitor would struggle to carry a clear sound back to the drummer).

It also seems to be built pretty solidly, we've no worries over quality. It has gigged with us 15 or 16 times since we've had it and we've never had a problem with it.

Highly recommended. If you are a typical pub band like us it's unlikely you will need anything bigger or more expensive.

Great for the price
TDT 21.09.2015
This is a very clear and loud little monitor. Don't expect it to do everything, and its low end lacks but for vocals/keys etc. it works great.

I use this in a function band, and it's the perfect size for slinging in the car and is small enough to fit on even the tiniest stages. Requires minimal EQ and sounds as good as the other 8" monitor we have that cost 4 times as much.

The rubberised handle is a bit rubbish as when you lift the monitor up it traps the rubber coating and cuts it up, so it probably won't last. The foam on the grill isn't glued down well in the corners either, but there's a grille underneath for protection.

Overall though, it's fantastic for how little it costs and as long as you're not expecting to put kick/snare/bass etc. through it, it punches well above its weight.

Much much better than you think it is
DaveScot 09.12.2022
I was skeptical about these units but they work very well and are perfect for a busy stage. Please note that you are NOT going to get a lot of bass but if you are already adding a HFP up to 150Hz for vocalists on your aux send anyway then there's nothing lost and the small size is a bonus.

Great for the size and price
Vanpatten 26.05.2024
Bought two of these as drum monitors as the band are using an electric kit at my venue but have also used them as stage monitors which have been perfect as its a small stage.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality.
These are great for small venues or for bands that travel to gigs that don't provide monitors.

Very good for small venues
DJPJ 27.02.2015
I bought this to hear my guitar synth in small venues where there was no house rig in place. It did the job perfectly. It is only 70 watts but I used it for the synth and some vocals too. It is lightweight and easy to transport with the side handle. The only gripe I had was there is no eq function and the volume knob is located at the rear making it hard to reach during a gig. All in all a cheap reliable way of providing on stage sound for small intimate venues. I would buy again for the venues we play in but if you need a good bit of volume ie bigger venues then you are best to maybe spend the extra on more watts

cheap and cheerful monitor, but all you need for monitoring banking vocals in pub gigs. The great thing is it's so small and portable!

Does the job - depends on the use...
PianoManDan 04.06.2014
I purchased two of these for on stage monitors, to accompany my Mackie SRM450v2's which are used for FOH. I work in a duo, so backing tracks, live keyboard, and microphones.

They have plenty of power for personal monitoring. Sometimes when my FOH speakers are a bit further away from me I miss a bit of bass oomph in the monitors, but then you're not going to get that from 8" speakers. However, clarity is very good, and portability is fantastic. The handles keep coming loose, and every 2-3 months I'm taking of the front grill, taking the driver out, and re-fitting the handle. It's just a little nut and bolt so it's not a big deal. Never had any faults with them, even though they've been bumped around in my boot, and fallen out of my car. Brill product!

Pretty good for the money
Slimholio 13.10.2017
So this is a small monitor with an 8" driver so don't expect low end. That said it works brilliantly for acoustic and vocals and has a tiny foot print. I struggle when I put electric guitar, bass effects and stomp box through it. It is well made and cheap. I've had two so far and although I'm going to upgrade to the 10" I will keep this one for my vocal partner.

Handy for a rehearsal room
CarlK 01.10.2013
Have a couple of these guys in a rehearsal room and the sound from such a small box is quite surprising/impressive. I don't think it would stand up to live performances, but for a small rehearsal room, perfect!
