Compatible with many pads

The 2box DrumIt Three is an e-drum module that can be combined with pads from different manufacturers and has over 100 memory slots for drum kits, 90 of which are occupied by default. Among the preset kits are many authentic-sounding acoustic drum sets, powerful electronic kits, and a whole range of percussion sounds of all kinds. The most interesting feature of the DrumIt Three module is the open sound architecture, which allows multilayered samples with up to 128 velocity levels to be imported. Conventional e-drum modules are usually nowhere near such figures, so the DrumIt Three is particularly recommended for drummers who place great value on realistic sound progressions and the greatest possible dynamics.

Connections for flexible routing

The module offers 15 jack trigger inputs, which can be equipped with drum pads from any manufacturer. Triple-zone snare or cymbal pads are also supported. Four individual outputs and a separate headphone output, which also works as a line out, allow you to process different instruments in the mixer individually, and a USB socket and MIDI input and output are also on board. Via the line in connection, it is possible to feed in external audio material (e.g. from a smartphone), in order to practise along to playbacks, for example. The internal memory has a capacity of four gigabytes, a large part of which is occupied by the preset kits. However, these can be overwritten, so it is also possible to "feed" the module with your own created samples, songs, or high-resolution sounds from sample libraries if required.

High-resolution sounds

The 2box DrumIt Three module is ideal for anyone who wants to upgrade their existing e-drum set in terms of sound and flexibility. It also cuts an excellent figure as the control centre of a hybrid kit with a mixture of pads and drum triggers. A major advantage is the fact that the use of highly detailed samples does not require a laptop and audio interface; instead, the sounds can be imported directly into the module. The 2box Sound Editor, which can be downloaded free of charge from the manufacturer's website, is of great help when creating multisamples. Of course, it is also possible to create a sample pool from the sounds of your own acoustic drum set and use this in situations where acoustic drums are out of the question.

About 2box

2box was founded in Stockholm in 2007 by Bengt Lilja and specialises in the production of electronic drums. Lilja, who had already been involved in the development of the Clavia ddrum 4 five years earlier, enjoyed immense success when he presented the 2box DrumIt Five e-drumset during the 2008 NAMM show. The special feature of the DrumIt Five is its open sound architecture, which enables the import of high-resolution multisamples and thus produces extremely realistic sounds within a previously unobtainable dynamic range. Besides e-drum modules and complete sets, 2box also markets drum triggers and other e-drum accessories.

No more stress on stage

Any drummer who is on stage with a band and wants to use sounds or loops from the studio production live in an authentic form, for example, often uses a combination of laptop, audio interface, pads, and acoustic drums equipped with drum triggers - a fairly complex system that can be greatly simplified using the 2box DrumIt Three module. Even if they are complex multi-layer samples, the sounds from your laptop can be stored permanently in the DrumIt Three module, making it a trigger interface and sound source at the same time. This means that the computer and audio interface can stay at home and you can fully concentrate on the performance.

For those who love to create!

1. Module itself.
Housing of this module made of 1,5-2 mm thick steel and it's very heavy. My previous Yamaha module was much lighter! I recommend separate stand or strong module holder.
2. Connection
2box drum module have 3 cymbal inputs suitable as well for single cable Yamaha e-cymbals (use only A inputs) as for Roland-type double cable e-cymbals (A and B inputs is necessery). But what input is for ride cymbal sound I've understood only in experimental way. Every other pad connection passed without problems.
3. Trigger settings
Big problem with setup was HiHat calibration. I tried to calibrate HiHat by manual in the trig.setting. I did everything but my pad isn't work properly! Only on next day I found small knob on the back panel right between two midi ports and with small screwdriwer I was able to achive right rebound of my HiHat at different playing - foot-splash, opening and closing.
4. Sounds
2box filled up this module by almost everything from their downlodable sound from official site. Plus something new. I really enjoyed to play with stock sound, it's so inspirational, new. Yamaha make goodsounding modules, but I wanted something another. In 2box module you can change sound on each pad, but some limits we have. And it doesn't matter. If you can create your own multilayered sounds from whatever you want. Sample meow of your cat, process it in any soundeditor, upload to module and play!
Conclusion:
I really like this module for open system - if you don't like sound, you can delete it and fill up memory by everything you want and love. But 4 GB is not enought for big amount of Hi quality sounds. One HiHat can be 120-150 mb and more!
This module is universal - every trigger by another company will work with this module, only proper trigger profile is necessary. I have 2 Yamaha e-cymbals, 1 V-cymbal crash Yamaha HiHat and absolutly everything works!
