This is a great quality product at a bargain price. The lights look really cool and make your rack look really classy and on a practical level you can see your rack case setting a lot easier especially on a dark stage.. Love the fact you can change the colours and brightness. Although the red colour could do with being brighter. Something to bear in mind is that you are going to loose at least one rack space as if you put a rack unit right below the light because the light sticks out about 40 mm if you look directly down you cant see it properly so may find you have to leave a one rack space gap. Don't forget you'll need some rack nuts and bolts and also for UK a shaver plug adapter as it comes with a 2 pin plug for the mains adapter.

A light in the darkness of the stage

As Irelands premier rigging rental house Made For Stage requires the best equipment to supply its customers.
The 87451 LED rack light is perfect for lighting our motor distro racks, with pleanty of brightness we have no trouble seeing motor switches and patches, while the multiple colour choices allow us to choose a colour which will not show up from the audience.
The rugged construction speaks for itself in terms of quality and ability to withstand life on the road.
We highly recommend this for anyone needing professional rack lighting.
And the price is great too!

I really like this racklight. Color (choice of 5) and dimming level (choice of 3) are easily selectable and the maximum brightness is good.

The only small point of criticism is the fact that the leds are not spread over the entire width of the racklight. As a consequence, the left side of the equipment is a bit darker than the rest.

Other than that: very good and value for money.

Its a good light for the back of a rack, its well built.
The light is very bright, and you can change the brightness ass well.

Some people think it feels cheap, but i really like that its light. The rack that i put it in is especialy for moving, so the less weight the better!

So very nice, good price, buying it would be my advice

Excellent Adam Hall product but would like the control buttons moved from on top of the unit to the front.
So it can be used at the top of racks to shine down on everything below.
It’s a simple thing to do 😎👍

Light for racked up power amps.

Installed into a rack, holding power amps. With this rack light, you no longer have to hold a small torch whilst making any adjustments. Also with a choice of colors and brightness, it can be left on without being too obtrusive. Well made product at a very good price, highly recommended.

Nice and practical, not enough light.

Good build quality, really nice look.

With the red light, my rack looks like a submarine control panel, really cool.

There is enough light for finding a button or connecting a jack, but not enough light for untangling cables.

I expected the color rendering to be poor since this is a RGB lighting, so I wasn't surprised, but don't use this light to find a red cable beside a yellow or orange one.

In brief, perfect during a performance and not for the setup.

Funky multi coloured rack lights puts your equipment in the spotlight. Very good quality, nice switches but there is the issue of access when mounted in a rack with a close top shelf.
Solved the problem by just sliding an old credit card in the gap i can operate the switches.
The other alternative would be to drill two holes above the switches and use wood dowels as button extensions to operate the switches.
Or maybe the switches should be on the front.

A good led light for a small rack system.

I bought this for my 8u rack to illuminate the interfaces and patch bays.
It fits the 19” rack space fine, no issues, plug in the power adaptor and you’re good to go.
The power adaptor has a euro plug but Thomann always provide an adaptor for your country which I definitely appreciate!
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a variable colour lighting unit for their rack.
