I bought it after reading reviews here on Thomann to use it as my main guitar practice headphone to pair it with a Strymon Iridium.
I spent a month struggling with the Iridium trying to understand why the sound was not as stellar as everyone was saying. I even bought some York Audio IR to replace the stock ones. But the sound with some gain was awful: fizzy, compressed, muddy. I even contacted Strymon support.
Turned out, it was those AKG 702 that were really bad. As soon as I switched to something actually good (Shure SE425), the Iridium sounded perfect, with no issue when the sound was getting huge.
So I don't understand how people can recommend those headphones for studio or music usage, I'm neither a pro nor an expert, but still I could hear something was very wrong right away.
The build seems also pretty cheap.
