I love my Crimson II SE!
MusicFanatic 18.02.2021
After months of extensive research I ended up buying this model. It's super fun, and very easy to setup (took longer to unbox than to setup haha). The module interface took a while to get used to, the UX experience isn't the best, but after a while you get used to it. Sensitivity is great. I'm using all the default settings ( I have had some issues with the ride cymbal though, still trying to find the best settings but definitely not a deal breaker). Definitely recommend it! If you're trying to decide between the normal and SE version, the SE is worth the extra money!

L
Best electronic kit for price range by far
Lilalon 07.12.2020
Absolutely jam packed with relevant features:
Chokeable cymbals;
Three-zone ride;
Two-zone snares and toms;
Two (yes two) crash cymbals!;
Proper kick drum trigger (so you can use your own single/double pedal);
Range of hi-hat openness;
Tuneable mesh heads.

It feels great to play and is fully adjustable to your own set-up.

The only con:
All electric drums (even top high-end ones) seem to suffer from the same problem - the in-built sounds. The electronic kits and SFX kits are fine, but the 'real' kits have an artificial quality about them.

However, if you use a drum sample library over USB (even the cheapest sound realistic) then this is a non-issue. Just don't expect to gig realistically with an electric kit.

Fantastic for someone like me who has no room or soundproofing for a real kit.

JW
Gut gebaut und stabil, Trigger mittelmäßig
JJ W. 11.11.2022

Naja.

PS
Great kit for the price but bad built-in sounds
Pierre Schifflers 21.06.2022
This kit has a great price-quality ratio. For this price, you will struggle to find a kit with all mesh heads with such large sizes.

The 12" Snare and 14" ride are great and make the kit feel very realistic and the general build quality seems great so far. Only complaint about the physical kit is the hi hat pedal which is functional but definitely doesn't feel like a real hi hat pedal.

Where the kit leaves a lot to be desired is the built-in sounds, which are simply not good. There are 57 kits, only a handful of which mimick acoustic sets and I haven't found a single one that sounds good. Even after adjusting the settings, the volumes, sounds and feel just feel wrong. Coming from years of playing on acoustic drums, the built-in sounds are very difficult to play with.

However, I hooked the kit up to logic Pro using a USB midi cable and used the drum sounds from Logic's drum designer. It took a bit of tweaking but with that done, the sounds are much much better than the built-in ones and the kit itself feels a lot closer to a real acoustic drumset. I'm now having a great time with the kit.

TL;DR Great hardware, sturdy build, good price - quality ratio but try to use external sounds if possible.
