The Westwood Bass Bible is one of my first learning books for the bass. I bought it in the beginnings of my life as bass player to teach myself the fundamental things.
But as this point I get disappointed. The Bass Bible is a collection of different music styles (Rock, Blues, Soul to name some of them), but it is written for people with first experiences in bass playing.
For an absolute beginner it was to learn with and to gain a progress. Later on (and after some bass teaching lessons) it was easier to work with the Bass Bible. It is also nice, that most of the basslines are written as tabs, so it is not necessary to read notes.
