This is an excellent product. I bought a few of these in the past from a different website (the website that is in partnership with this brand) and the conversion rate from USD to EUR had never been so kind to me when one must account for courier delivery.....until now. Thank you so so so so so much Thomann for making a product available to violinists that caters for musicians that require a comfy and flexible alternative to the traditional shoulder rest!
This spongy product has eased the pain in my student's neck as she was experiencing incredible discomfort whenever she put the violin on her shoulder with a traditional rest. the cavity between her shoulder and her chin is too small as she is only growing and so this product was perfect for her beginning stage of learning the instrument as it prevents hyper-extension of the neck and in turn, injury. In my case, I have used it when my shoulder became irritated by the shoulder rest I was using and I have not taken it off since, even though I have gone back to using a traditional shoulder rest. The adhesive on the back of the rest is also violin-friendly!

Not very useful.
It is a flat slice of a foam plastic circular cylinder.
To be effectual it needs to have been ovoid and contoured, then it might have had some success.
Perhaps on a child size violin it might have somepurpose
