I bought these headphones for both listening to music and producing music after reading reviews of them about how they are meant to be very non-fatiguing and detailed, so they can be played at louder volumes without discomfort, as an upgrade for my Sennheiser HD600's. However, I was very disappointed by mine. The treble seemed very harsh and distorted, and the upper midrange actually had a peak around 2.8 KHz, both of which led to music getting quite uncomfortable before even reaching 25% volume on my amp. It seems as if my pair had bad harmonic distortion in the treble, as it basically sounded like harsh and unpleasant fizz in music with a lot of treble detail. Comfort-wise, they are heavy, but the weight didn't bother me at all. The headband does a good job at distributing the weight. However, the seal on the earpads did cause discomfort and pain for me due to the feeling of inequal pressure it causes. No one really mentions this, so avoid these if you're sensitive to very airtight seals and ear pressure changes. I imagine other pairs would sound better than mine, but this kind of quality control on 1300€ headphones isn't acceptable.

This headphone is incredibly accurate. I use it to check mixes and listen for detail. It came in very handy after an album was mastered incorrectly. These headphones told me the truth and helped me identify a high pitch tape frequency that I was not hearing in my speakers. Saved the day.
They are a bit heavy but I dont use them all the time and when I do I dont find them uncomfortable at all.
The first time I listened to some old music that I know well I actually wept. It was like hearing these old songs with the young ears I had as a child. There was that depth and feeling that made me love the songs originally but that I hadn't heard in years. If you need some high end studio headphones for work try these.

I make music on ATC SCM 25 active monitors in combination with amp powered NS-10M and now i added these headphones into the mix.

After working with them for couple weeks i can really understand depth and width differently as their room is quite large and therefore the separation is quite apparent. that also creates an issue with placement of instruments and vocals in the mix since its quite difficult to pinpoint the exact dB (after compression and eq) i want it to sit.

if you want to use these headphones to their maximum i would suggest to work with a pair of reference that allows you to be more precise with compression eq and relationship between instruments and use these headphones as a reference for depth and width of elements to enhance the stereo field.

you can take this review with a grain of salt as i just started working with them consistently so it might change in the future as time takes its course

I use these for mixing and mastering, and they're giving me reliable results and are my absolute go to for headphones. I primarily power them with my Antelope Orion studio rev2017 and that sounds great. I first tried them out with one of sennheisers higher grade headphone amplifiers which sounded absolutely incredible. I liked the sound of I don't feel that I need to check my mixes when using these, they tell the whole story.
I would describe these as flat, maybe with the vocals a bit further back than im used to. But excellent imaging and the bass tightness and accuracy is the best i've heard. In my experience you would need a really well treated room with monitors far above this price range to come close to that bass clarity.
One big plus with these as well is that they are easy driven, which means you don't need to sit in front of your fancy headphone amp, which means you get a lot more time to really get to know how they sound. On the other hand they are quite heave so you might not walk around the house with them for to long.
These are extremely open headphones which means they leak a lot of sound and don't isolate at all. So tracking is a no go, and you can't use them in a noisy environment. So no mixing on the commuter train with these.
All in all, they're the best headphones i've tried and I feel that I can really trust them to give me the information necessary to make the right decisions in mixing. If I lost them I would get them again!

I got these both for listening to records and using them as reference headphones when mixing in my studio. They are excellent for ONE of these uses.

For listening to records I simply LOVE these headphones. Compared to most "reference" headphones in this price range they have a less analytical but warmer/fatter sound. They kinda make digital sound analog. They're a lot more fun and also give me less listening fatigue than some of the more analytical/neutral headphones out there.

As a reference for mixing I find their rather colored tone less useful and prefer more neutral/analytical sounding headphones like Focal ClearMG Pro or maybe even the much less expensive Sennheiser HD600.

Still, I don't regret buying them as they makes it so much more enjoyable listening to music than ANY of my other headphones. The only downside is the weight but the wonderful, warm yet detailed sound quality is worth it.
