I used this headphones with electric guitar and bass combos at home, and the overdrive/distortion/fuzz sounds are very poor. No subtility at all for the treble sounds. I can't manage any decent setups with the headphones on and have to play without them to hear any subtility.

BIG difference between these and the M40 and M50, sound-wise
PS2020 18.02.2023
While the price for these is certainly appealing, as well as the confort and finish (still Audio-Technica so you know its built to last you decades), the big off-putting factor here is the sound. With the M30x headphones, you get virtually no bass, and as such the sound is thin and scratchy. It's certainly usable for DJs I guess, but for professional audio it really falls short.
