Love it
Joanna Jrmr 18.04.2019
Bought it beacuse of feedback problems in our small rehearsal room. We play LOUD metal and it was impossible for me to push vocals' volume through amps&drums because feedback occured directly (especially with reverb/delay). Also, I was hearing way too much of the instruments through my in-ears monitors.

Now all those problems are solved. I was a bit afraid about that extra gain required, but I don't really have more on the mixer that with my old SM58.
Also, it is very solidly made... and extremely aesthetic. Really love the design: all black, minimalist yet elegant curved lines. Wow!

Hovewer, it really requires some discipline from the singer. The angle has to be stable and I must almost eat the mic ;) but that is not a big price for the comfort of growling as I want.

Totally recommend for metal vocalists.

Review of Audix OM7 mic by Gina

Very good. Used for many gigs. Sounds good with some reverb. Need to stay close, less than 6-8 cm. Advantage that it doesnt pick up stray noise and no buzz.

Feedback prince

Made for the road and for high volume stages. Whenever I`m near the drums I use this mic, but be careful with the distance between you and the mic tho. You should be very close for it to sound good.

Great microphone
Anonymous 02.02.2016
The microphone comes with a carrying pouch and a clip, it is well built and has a good finish to it that will make it hard to scratch or scuff. It is a great live microphone, very natural and warm sounding while keeping the external noise to a minimum. You can crank the volume and don?t have to worry about any feedback. I have owned this microphone for about two years now and I have never had any problems.

In my opinion the OM7 is the best vocal microphone for this price range.

Problem Solved

This is a great addition to my microphones, it has a slick look to it but most of all it sounds unbelievable, I also like how it wont scratch easily so after having this for a year it still looks brand new.

I had a condenser mic (Beta 87C) and when I played in the band I would get massive amounts of feedback, so I knew I was using the wrong microphone.

I heard about the Audix OM7 and its pick up so I said I'd try it out and now I'm able to push the volume and get so much out of it, I couldn't get feedback if i tried.

Also being close to a drummer and using IEM was awful with the condenser but now I'm getting nothing from the kit.

You really have to sing into this mic or it won't pick you up so there is a certain amount of discipline required when using this. But over all the sound quality is beautiful, It's very warm sounding.

Simply the best!!!
Anonymous 28.11.2014
I currently use the EV 967 and 767 mics which are very very good. However, In small venues they pick up feedback when the volume is very high... The OM7 does not pick up any feedback no matter how high I push the Amp.. It cuts right through the mix... You need to stay right on top of the mic all the time and your mixer must have lots of headroom...

Great mics.
Rok L. 07.11.2016
I bought three of this mic's for all singing band members and the results are great. I decided to buy this microphones because we have a really small practice space, so the drums bleed thru other microphones quite drastically. Being hypercardiod, this mic's have great rejection, which is helpful with cutting down on that annoying cymbal bleed in our in-ear's. There are a little on the quiet side as far as the output goes, but as long as you have an adequate mic pre (those on audio interfaces work just fine), so you can gain stage them as best as possible, they are really great sounding microphones. The price tag is a bit hefty, but well worth it.

Audio OM7
Anonymous 23.11.2015
I bought the OM7 to deal with an older band I work Front of House with, not wanting to turn there Marshall Stacks down in a 250cap venue and picking up a lot of bleed through the usual in house mics and not having the outboard needed to have a clean mix in there wedges.

It does just what I wanted with the tighter polar pattern and ability to push it that extra few decibels before feedback and not having to cut unnecessary frequencies out of the Monitor Graphic.

The clarity with the om7 is superb and always gives a nice crisp vocal.

Very good mic
Anonymous 26.10.2016
I bought two OM7,
One of these after three years of use, I could say exactly that after about 50 open air concerts with moisture and so on, it stopped working.

These microphones have very warm sound, exceptional feedback resistance and the best "anti leakage" & "source isolation" proprieties ever found in a vocal live dynamic microphone.

I suggest a very good preamp because these Audix requiring a lot of gain (+6db vs sm58)
