I would totally recommend this unit, as it has everything you need. I use it for my Jazz Bass, no eq, straight to the converters. Only setback, you need to buy separate rack ears if you wish to mount it to your rack

I highly highly recommend this unit with bass guitar (passive or active). It is absolutely "must have". It works fenomenal with vintage ampeg b25b also!
DI itself delivers ture sound of bass guitar to PA and tone bank provide wide range of musically enhanced frequencies.
I should bought U5 sooner!
