We all have different mouth sizes and each mouthpiece has to be tested.
For a "normal" mouth the 5C is perfect. Clear, mellow sound typical of a "C" cup, and very good sound attack helpful for staccato.
Your notes range will only depend on how much you practice.
Out of the box is shining, however it loses the polish after 2 weeks. Also one must be careful when inserting in the trumpet as it gets easily scratched and that may be a reason to reject the return if for any reason needs to be returned.

I moved from the 7c mouthpiece that came with my trumpet to this Bach 5c. I am still a beginner so my opinion might not mean too much for someone who has been playing for a long time. Having said that, my playing is already a night and day difference using the Bach 5c! It's now much easier to hit the notes I'm going for and is far more consistent than my first mouthpiece.
