BAM quality: Poor for such an expensive case (read on)
Thomann Customer Service: Very good
Would I recommend: Buy from Thomann - YES
Buy a BAM case - NO
I heard so much about these BAM cases I decided to buy one for my son when he moved to a full size violin. I even chose this more expensive special edition model.
My son was very excited when it arrived within days of ordering. However excitment soon turned into disappointment when we noticed an uneven seal at the bottom end of the case and a kink along the seal at the other end. Also the lid half of the case was gloss silver and the bottom half was matt silver!! How it passed quality control I had no idea.
I contacted Thomann Customer Service the next day and sent them some photos. I returned the defective case back to Thomann and 2 weeks later a new BAM case arrived.
The new case have no defective seal. The top and bottom half were both gloss silver. However it is still not perfect. The gloss finish on the bottom half of the case is slightly uneven and looks like there were small bubbles formed when the gloss finish was applied on. Very disappointing for such an expensive case, and again how it was allowed to pass through quality control.
Although it is still not perfect I did not return the case as I do not want my son disappointed a second time. This will be our first and last BAM case we buy.
