Overall I’m happy with the monitor particularly weight as I needed something to replace my old the box 110’s that I was finding a bit heavy and cumbersome. The monitor has plenty of volume for my purposes which is just hearing the overall mix. Tone isn’t bad but isn’t really important for me. I only use in and thru to feed another monitor so the other inputs are largely unused but they do work ok. Only thing I have found is that whilst I can hear guitar and backing tracks, it’s more difficult to hear your own voice as the monitor is quite close when stand mounted.
Now the downside. I had to wait over a week and spend £6 on adapters before I could try it on my mike stand because the spec says 3/8in thread but it’s not. It’s 5/8in. Sent an email to Thomann but had a v unhelpful reply basically saying that Thomann only resell them so tough. It’s also very fiddly trying to attach the boom to the top tube. Best way is to take the boom out of the bracket, fit the bracket then replace the boom arm. Didn’t help that one of the locknuts was missing. I’ve emailed Thomann asking for another but I’m not holding my breath !! Would by again though.

Good alternative to wedge monitors
Wibbers 15.05.2013
I never really got on with floor (wedge) monitors; in my band we don't often have the luxury of a front of house sound engineer and so have to do monitoring ourselves. These are good because they can be mounted on the mic stand (although we use them on separate short stands because they can be positioned better), and the user has access to volume and basic EQ functions.
Being closer to your ears also means that the onstage sound is tighter because there is less overall sound washing about into the microphones. The sound is ok without being spectacular, but they cannot be faulted for value for money.
There are a total of three inputs so the B205D could even act as a micro-PA system for a solo performer in a small performance area, with microphone, guitar and backing track all having their own inputs. It's a versatile piece of equipment.

Does the job
Gerry720 15.11.2023
Got this as a monitor for my one man show. My PA is the LD Maui system which does feed back at close quarters. I have many Behringer products which are good, especially for the price, but can have small issues (nothing serious). This monitor is perfect sitting on a mic stand using the fun generation CL105 stand adapter.

Fantastic Unit and Great Value - A +++
JackTaylorGuitar 05.08.2024
This is a fantastic little monitor. I've used it in rehearsals as a personal monitor, as a guitar amp in small cafes, a mixer for recording at home direct into my audio interface and for practicing.
It's extremely versatile, reliable and incredibly loud for its size. It can struggle with larger bands, however if positioned correctly you should be able to hear yourself no problem. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a simple, affordable and reliable monitor.

Nice speaker
TM AT 11.06.2019
Purchased it recently in support of teaching kids to DJ'ing skills.
Received extra power cord as a gift, pleasant.
Using it in our flat, exactly in hall on the floor and pretty much impressed with small size of it and loudness. Neighbors appreciated our musical taste and were noted volume of the speaker during testing.
I am satisfied with quality and options included in this speaker (1 CD in port and 2 more mic/line ports with full range equalizer) enough for our needs.
Detail to improve in next models is to add indication of loudness.
It is not one for those who looking for deep low frequencies.

Smallest Most Effective Loudspeaker ever made :)
Joel5541 06.01.2014
This speaker blows my mind. I made a very long and tedious informative search. First, I thought that it would be nice to own the 500W Passport from Fender but we're talking a grand. I'm not rich, so my budget was less than 500. After reading some of the comments placed by happy Thomann Customers, I came to the conclusion that this box should satisfy my needs. After all I thought I already owned the best Active Monitor (SOLTON 200W). But the weight of that monster was taking the fun out of making music... now I say OMG! I have no complaints. I simply had to modify it for my use with the addition of a Microphone Effects Processor from Alesis attached to the side of the Speaker Cab, including a foot switch for FX on and off so when I talk it's dry(clear). So now I have no more mixer to carry and only (1) small box I call the "Complete System". I love this thing and now all the people just stop and stare in disbelief when they hear me. They say things like "You can't tell me that ALL THAT SOUND is coming from this small box?" All I could do the first time I used it was shake my head. It was our New Year's Party Highlight. I documeted my Modification Project by making step-by-step Photos (30) and a descriptive word .doc. If you are interested, send me an e-mail at joel.mcfate@gmx.net and I will be glad to send you a copy of the directions plus photos.

Good monitor for no money
Moris C. 11.08.2013
I have purchased two of these monitors. At first I wanted to buy Mackies that look just the same but the price is much higher. Then I saw these and thought I give it a shot. I heard from the guy who runs the sound hiring company that they tested both Behringer and Mackies and they didn't hear any difference in sound quality. However I can hear clearly the difference between those two Behringer I bought. The one of them has less pronounced treble/high end. It is very strange but they don't sound the same. The second thing I could complain about is that there is no way these guys can deliver 150 watts. I would say it sounds more like 20 or 25 watts to my ears but then again I am a guitar player and my watts are tube watts. Another thing is the power cable. The power cable that came with the monitors is a joke. It is not even enough to the floor when monitor is mounted on a mic stand. You should get another longer cable. Beside these small things I think that B205D is still a very good puppy for no money and it works in many situations, from just pluging your guitar in and play in bedroom to smaller events in pubs when combined with one 15" speaker. The sound is very middle oriented but the size/weight and mounting ability is just amazing. If you play at small venues or need a nice little toy for your home this is a go.

Quite loud for it's small size but you can tell it is being forced a bit
George Kam 27.12.2022
Like I said on the title.loud enough for small gigs and rehearsal areas.but very small ,I expected it much larger from the photos on the site.I can tell is being forced to produce loud sounds.it has clear sound and does not distort that much when you put more than one things.but close to max the sound being distorted a bit.It is sad it does not have a reverb effect.price should be a bit less for the size it has.

Low budget good monitor for gigging musician
Matti2056 08.02.2014
The Behringer B205D has more features than you really need and for its price and quality it is a good deal!
In my case I use it as a keyboard and vocal monitor for myself in two rock bands. The unit has been unbreakable when going back and forward to gigs and rehearsal rooms without using any bags or any protection. I can't say any bad word about the controls or the layout of the monitor. The front face is well designed.
However, there are two problems when using it with mic stands. First, in the bottom of the monitor there is a hole for a custom attachment plug which is screwed on a mic stand. There is no tight locking and it feels flimsy. Second, on top of the monitor there is a screw mechanism for a mic stand boom. You can not adjust it sideways and lock it!
The unit has plenty of volume, but bass distorts at high levels. The sound in general is more about middle frequencies, which is ok for monitoring.
Despite of its shortcomings the Behringer B205D works well in professional work. It got good reviews also in a Finnish pro audio magazine. I recommend!
