Great value for money
adolfgottmann 05.12.2018
I bought it as a sort of polyphonic synth workhorse but after spending some quality time with it I must say it's way more than that!
Ok, It excels at vintage Roland-esque tones, but it would be an error to consider it as a one-trick pony or a generic-sounding device.
The highlights of course are the extensive modulation matrix and the included effects (internally modulatable). But envelope inversion e the possibility of setting curve per envelope stage are just wonderful!
The UI is well laid, and there is a bit of menu diving, but nothing too cumbersome.
As often noted, It's a bit limited in the oscillator department (the waveform choice is really really limited) but it doesn't seem a real problem to me, whit the effects and the massive modulation capabilities.
I have to add that it doesn't feel cheap at all, It's well build and I like the form factor (I have the desktop version).
I plan to use it in the studio, so I can't really comment on using it on stage.
The only shotcoming is, in my opinion, the filter resonance. It get nasty very quicky, hard to tame when you are past 70% of the fadr range.
All in al it's a nice device, capable of a wide range of tones, a real treat for sound designers. There are better polysynths, of course, but not at this price point. Kudos to Uli Behringer and the Midas team!

A pretty cool poly synth
psypad 18.01.2019
It takes some time to get into, but after you familiarize with the controls this synth really opens up. With a wide variety of modulation possibilities, FX and their routing options it can be anything ? from an evolving drone/pad machine to an aggressive dubstepish bass synth.
Definitely a machine worth buying, especially at its price.

Good synth for the price. Has it's limits though
Derk H. 28.09.2021
It's probably the best value synth for this price. I do tend to end up in the same kinds of sounds with it though. The oscillators are a little limited with only two waveforms and the effects are cumbersome to program (but really flexible though). It's got its own sound. Most controls are easily accessible. The detuning/voice stacking works wonderfully. It just can't really compete with the top synthesizers nowadays (such as Peak or Hydrasynth). If I was buying my first poly synth, I would save a couple more bucks and get one of those (unless you really dig the sound of the Deepmind)

impressed
LaRochelle 17.07.2019
very nice synth, 12 voice polyphony for the price it's a steal.
Build feels solid, but the fader caps are not the best (some don't sit straight in the shaft, so they look off, still they work perfectly).
Sound-wise i'm positively impressed, although I'm not really in love with the VCF yet...
