Unusable for quiet passages due to noise
Paulleigh 20.08.2019
With all controls set level the pedal is quiet. As soon as controls are moved away from level, even towards cut, there is a hiss which is too loud for quiet passages, making the pedal unusable. Thomann said this is normal, so I don't know if I have a faulty pedal or not.

Very high noise floor, practically unusable
nkovac 10.05.2021
This pedal is my first guitar EQ pedal. Once turned on it has a very audible hiss noise. Ironically the hiss can partially be lowered by lowering the highs on the unit itself, but not removed.
It might be ok for players with a very distorted tone that need to shape their signal before the distortion or tame the low end a bit, otherwise, I do not see it as usable at all.
I am sure my unit works is not broken as the hiss sounds like a stacked noise of many noisy mic preamps, and not like any buzz or rattle of bad wiring, or RF interference.
I do not care it is plastic, it feels quite capable of years of studio use for instance.
Pros: It is an eq pedal, the EQ part of it works as expected, mechanically it is ok for the price.
Cons: Practically unusable because of its high noise floor. If you need a noise making machine this thing is great, but as an eq pedal for any cleanish guitar tone it is hopeless.

Can be quite noisy
Blood Eagle 24.06.2020
I purchased as a trial as I like to use EQ pedals in front of my fuzz and or distortion pedals when using a pedal switcher. This EQ induces a considerable amount of noise to your instrument's signal when used in conjuration with distortion and fuzz pedals which was audible when my amp(s) was set to any volume setting above a whisper. I powered the EQ700 with a Behringer power supply, a Donner DP-2, a 1 SPOT PRO CS12, a VooDoo Lab Pedal Power X4 and a VooDoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus; the pedal produced significant hiss when engaged even when using ground lifted cables. I used this EQ with nearly every BOSS distortion/fuzz pedal ever made, every Behringer distortion/fuzz pedal that is available from Thomann, ProCo RAT, ProCo RAT 2, Mr. Black's Doomstick, Mr. Black's Doomstick 2 and a Fuzzlord Destroyer v2... Noise and hiss regardless of the gain setting of the pedals. Amps used were vintage Marshall plexi Super Lead (with 12AU7's in V1 and V2), 1972 Marshall Superlead, Fender (silver face) Super Reverb and the pedal was noisy when used with distortion pedals. However, the signal was clean when not using distortion pedals. Guitar was a BC Rich Mockingbird Extreme with Fishman active pickups, I'll try with passive pickups in the near future.

Not of serviceable quality
Bob Cratchet 15.12.2020
I ordered this to adjust the EQ of my guitar and boost the signal. The problem was that, on a battery, the pedal added noise to the signal, a heavy hiss in a rotating phaser type of pattern. This was exaggerated by the dirty tone on the amp. On the power supply it was even worse. The body is very plasticky and poor quality. The way the unit opens to change the battery is a joke. You have to remove the foot stitch by means of a spring loaded plastic piston at each side which you have to somehow at the same time, and replacing it is even more difficult. I was afraid I would break it. The EQ and the Db boost worked as it should, but there was just too much noise, so I returned it for a refund .............. :-(
