I bought the B212D for several reasons:
Firstly: I wanted a monitor speaker when singing backing vocals and in this respect the B212D has performed very well indeed, vocals are crisp and clear and there is no deterioration at higher volumes. We don't have a dedicated monitor mix - just a feed off the PA so at times there has been kick drum, keyboard and acoustic guitar in the monitors: the B212D handled this without problems. The vocals were still clear and the Kick Drum retained it's punch without any distortion.
Second: When practicing I needed something light and portable for the acoustic guitarist: well the B212D has been brilliant for this, OK it hasn't got the controls of a guitar combo but my mate uses a couple of peddles so not a problem. It is so light and powerful I have even used it with my Bass Guitar when supporting an acoustic group - saves my back compared to moving my Bass Rig! I used a Hartke Attack DI box to give me tone control.
The main reason: I wanted to try this speaker out with a view to replacing our conventional PA with active speakers. As a PA (which is what it was designed for) I am delighted with the sound. I shall be buying a second B212D shortly and a active sub bass speaker later. The class D amp is every bit a good as our older separate amps and a fraction of the weight; the speaker is easy to lift and carry with 2 well designed handles and overall it is more compact than our existing speakers. The only downside is the Volume/EQ knobs stick out and look vulnerable - I am careful how I place the B212D in the car to make sure nothing can damage the controls. I think the B212D offers outstanding value for money and can highly recommend it.
