are you sure you want this?
i_want_this_but_dont_need_this 10.03.2020
this thing is great - BUT not for me. the fact that you have no presets or a save mode - what means you can't save any sound you make is pretty sad. i dont have the time to always set up all the knobs to find the sound that i wanted. but if you are a keen to fuck around with a nice synth this is perfect for you. just make sure that this is something you really want. do you have the time? do you know how synthesizers work= buy it or leave it.

R
Worth the extra
Robert7183 21.07.2021
If you cant decide whether the poly d is worth the extra cash relative to the d then i can assure you it is. Assuming you can afford the extra and have the space to accommodate it then go for this every time. This looks, feels and plays like a real instrument in comparison. Behringer really pushed the boat out on this one. I bought it because it was a good price and the extra oscillator, the sequencer, the bigger/better knobs, the keybed and the chorus were all appealing. I now have both but the d will be offloaded soon - this is way better - it is way more responsive than the earlier desktop unit. It is a quality piece of kit.

Great but not like the original
Pro Audio 14.03.2020
The build quality is fine, except for the color of the buttons. The osc. sound great but sound much cleaner than the original. This also applies to the filter. It sounds fine but does not have the raw edge that I am used to. The envelope feels / sounds a bit cheap when you do A/B compression. Summary, fine synth with a nice clean layer. Not as raw as the original but certainly usable for many purposes and great value for money.

Sounds amazing, but feels a bit cheap.
Alan796 25.04.2020
I never had the pleasure of playing on a real Model-D (original or reissue) but I have a Moog Sub 37 and the difference in build quality between that and the Poly D is very noticeable.

That said, the Poly D sounds *amazing* and I think Behringer have quite cleverly introduced additional features re: poly, CV, etc.

Some people seem to think this is overpriced, but for a very good (sound-wise) clone of an icon, and with additional features to boot, I think it's worth the money.

Just don't expect it to be as well built as a real Moog. It feels a bit cheap, although I wouldn't necessarily say flimsy. Just ... cheap.

Great Introduction to Analogue Synths
frenchythefrog 09.12.2020
Simple and easy to use, appears to be well made, nice looking synth and sounds awesome. I find myself making a sequence and just listening and loving the noise it makes. These synths are a bit of a one trick pony but that's the kind of synth it is. What it does, it does in a lovely warm, thuddy, fuzzy way. My only complaint is the audio output level is measly and needs boosting .

Behringer Poly D

It sounds awesome, but the built quality is really bad, even for Behringer standards. Lots of loss on most knobs, which induct you in error when changing parameters. At this price tag I would expect more attention at quality control, especially on mains controllers, such oscillator’s pitch and waveform.
