Static sound makes it unusable

I had high hopes for this budget audio interface - all I needed it to do was to record my guitar onto Garageband. Unfortunately, every time I would play the guitar, there would be this loud static sound that I couldn't get rid of. I tried different programs, different cables, earphones etc but the problem was still there, so I guessed it was the interface. There was no workable solution to make it usable, so I sent it back.

I bought this to give it a try with amplitube, but I can't make it work. The instructions in the user manual are very, very short. I had to look for help on youtube, but also with those instructions, I couldn't get a signal transferred to my PC.
I have no idea if the product is broken, my PC's sound card is not compatible, something else is wrong, or I am too stupid to use this thing. (I doubt that last one, though)

Never again will I buy behringer. All my friends warned me of it, but just don't buy it. It does not have a dedicated driver, instead relying on the asio4 universal driver which has many audio glitches and did not work properly with ableton at all. When I finally did get it to work the signal was very weak, very low end and the latency was atrocious. Even on the direct monitoring there was a degree of latency. I continued behringer, but they didn't reply to any of my emails. Awful product from an awful company. Only plus is that it feels really nice in the hand. Expensive paperweight ,I suppose.
