Maybe I expected too much after all the hype on BetterSax. I've even exchanged emails with the very pleasant lady that does their correspondence to really get the right reed strenght for me.
I usually play D'Addario 2 Hard or 3 soft. The box of BetterSAx reeds I tried was nr 2. Can't say the reeds are too hard (very close to 3 soft D'Addarios though) but somehow I have really hard time with them. They get wrinkled very fast, my horn sounds like it's leaking somewhere when I play them. I've almost taken it to get it repaired but threw news D'Addario reed on it and it's perfectly fine. Maybe it's just my lot but it's the same story with three reeds out of five in this box. I haven't tired the other two yet. I'll avoid them but as other things in life, maybe you get a better box.
