After watching some tutorials on YT, I find this product easy to replace.
Tip to replace the cable :
- use a a soldering iron with a flat head
- Wires :
1. Black wire on the new cable equals copper-colored wire (old cable)
2. Middle part : red wire on the new cable equals red wire (old cable)
3. White wire on the new cable equals blue wire (old cable)
- do not desolder the copper and white wires from the right side of your headphones but do this :
- Cut the wires with scissors from the old cable
- Remove the old cable and place your new cable
- There will be a silver pin to remove with pliers
- Place the new cable.
- Put the new silver pin to hold the new cable (delivered with your new cable)
Solder the wires of your new cable on top of the wires from the right side of the headphones (copper cable and white cable on my headphones)
- Test your headphones to see if you got sound on both ears
- Put everything back
That's it ! Good luck

damn! So much better than the coiled cable.
RMA_BR 29.10.2024
I wonder why it took me so much time to change from the coiled cable...
This cable is indeed a bit too long but nothing that can't be worked around.
(make sure you also get some of those "Hook-And-Loop Fastener")

As described

Cable is nothing to write home about, its not the most flexible and has an annoying memory. But it is a true drop in replacement and its cheaper than most 3rd party "audiophile" solutions (these won't do anything for the audio quality, don't waste your time).
Tip - make sure you have a fine tip for your iron as the solder points are on the smaller side. Also, check both drivers before installing the cable as the headband/link to the right transducer can sometimes be the issue.

Saved me from buying a new one

This replacement cable saved my Beyerdynamic from the trash after the jack broke. It was fairly easy to install, I just had to do a little research because the color code was different from the original cable.

This kakbelt is exactly like a native one.

I bought it in reserve because I use the 770 very actively. I especially play the guitar, listen to the player, connect it to the mixer. Wire load is high)
This kakbelt is exactly like a native one.

Good replacement

The cable on my headphones got damaged and rather than buying a whole new set of headphones, I thought I'd give this a try.
I found a youtube video explaining how to take the headphones apart, which was very helpful.
Actually doing the soldering wasn't difficult, just make sure you have a small enough tip and a way to hold the whole thing steady.

Awesome cable. Many features. Wow

Lets face it. This cable is one of the most desirable cables there is on the market if you broke your DT-770 jack. (Preferable inside the headphone jack of your work laptop) .
So grab your soldering iron, fix your DT-770 except you need to have an excuse to buy new headphones.
