Well, my snare drum by itself sounds very good. I spend hours on tuning to achieve a very good sound.
To play Funk I muffle it using gels and I have a very satisfactory result. Me and my band wanted to play something more on the rap side. I normally would put a wallet on top of the snare drum and be done, but I thought I'd give this a try.
It feels like it is made of high quality plastic and it has a small cut to be easily removable. It definitely seems like it is well-made.
Buuuuut it sounds absolutely horrible on a good quality and well tuned snare drum. The resonance is just too bad. When I put this on it sounds like my snare drum is out of tune. You know the feeling of having extreme snare buzzes crosstalking when hitting the toms? This is how this sounds like.
