Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus

As with many of the Boss pedals, this thing does what it says it does. It's a pretty reasonable chorus pedal and a solid buy if you're looking to move into the world of chorus pedals.

Sound wise it's on the mark and is a pretty convincing sound. Not going to make anyone wet themselves with excitement, but how many chorus pedals do? It had a little difficulty thickening the sound of the lower notes of my bass, but perhaps that's a good thing to avoid muddiness. If you need something specialist you'll need to actually try a load of pedals, but this thing is pretty good all round.

Physically...it's a Boss box. We all know and love them. They're all sturdy and all nice and compact. Would like see it come with a power supply, but that's an issue with Boss across the board.

Like the other Boss pedals I own this one is a solid metal body with a great switch.

It is clear and simple to operate and you can get a good effected tone out of it in seconds even without any prior experience of chorus pedals.

As quality as the pedal is and as simple to use it unfortunately does not keep up with those standards in terms of sound.

The effect while very variable and easy to control sounds far to artificial for my ears. For someone who is new to playing or perhaps is just less picky than me this could be the pedal for them, I however found it to be too modern and digital sounding.
