Fulfills its purpose, the pedal works without noise, but it is too expensive piece of equipment.

Good cable length and low noise.

BOSS is not lying. I checked with an oscilloscope and the dc noise is really low.
I own a bunch of these and none of them have failed yet.

a little expensive but dependable
steelyDave 09.10.2015
Having used so many different variations of the Boss power supplies over the years, I have found them to be often undependable and have a short life-span. This can be very frustrating given the price is a little expensive. However, it seems like Boss have gotten it right with this particular model. They are a little light in weight - which can be good for travel - but I would always ensure to carry a back up.

Perfect but pricey!
Matt R 05.10.2018
Well, what can you say about the Boss PSA? It works. It has a nice little blue light that tells you it is on. It is made of plastic, easily lost, and sometimes the cord could be longer but it still works well. I think everyone can agree that it should come with pedals as standard and having to buy one or two really ups the cost of being a musician but we love spending money on musical things. You can get cheaper non-brand versions as well. I think it is a personal choice really. Definitely check compatibility with other power supplies and your devices if you choose to go 'off-brand' though! But yeah, it works. And works well and will last if you are careful.

Handy!
RonanM 09.07.2014
This provides power to your boss pedals so you don't have to spend an age faffing about with batteries. Quite handy! Wish it came with an adapter though for UK plug types though.

Good for daisy chains (with Boss NS2, LS2 ...)
Christian291 14.02.2014
It has enough power to use a some pedals in a daisy chain configuration. I didn't noticed any humming, hiss, oder something like that. The housing is quite small and fits well on the power strip, but the extra housing on the cable is annoying: too big. The cable is long enough.

Boss PSA 230S Power Supply

Great option instead of batteries. Plug set up is a bit large and clunky and sticks out a bit.

It's the power supply
Anonymous 17.08.2016
No hiss no noise, pure clean power.
500mA of power makes sure you've got space for a good few pedals. It's also really long so you can reach that crowded socket in the corner of the pub.
