Great little amp for Jazz
rtkeane101 16.08.2020
Bought the V5 to use with my Peerless Monarch (with floating Zoller pu) for practise, recording and small gigs. Out of the box the amp sounds great - tone & clarity is bang on, gives a good approximation of that Kenny Burrell Midnight Blue sound with the Monarch. Controls are straight forward - gain (push this to get a nice broken crunch for a more bluesy sound), volume, tone (basically adds/cuts treble) & reverb. Reverb is digital & gives a fairly good spring reverb sound. Volume is impressive & with the open back you get that nice wash of sound from the amp. The power attenuator allows to switch between 0.5/1/5 watt settings which obviously impacts on volume but also gives another paramemter to play around with for getting different sounds - particularly around using the gain setting. Also has a headphone output - but I find that it gives a fairly thin sound when used. Overall - a great little valve amp that packs a punch volume wise and gives a great jazz feel.

Bugera "practice amp"
Skurkur 23.08.2021
I bought this amp as a practice amp only, but boy does it pack a punch. I have managed to keep up with my band, full size drum set, 2000W Bass amplifier and a F.... 40W tube amp (the other guitar player). This one held his own. The sound is authentic tube amp sound, warm and chrisp. The interface is easy to use and the amp is very mobile. With the 1W stepdown, it is perfect for home practice, whithout loosing the tube effect. All in all, I love this amp.

Great amp for home use
LoveGuitars 26.03.2023
I was looking for my first tube amp, mainly for home use . I have Mustang LT25, and I narrowed the decision to 3 amps (v5, HB tube15 and Blackstar HT5) and decided to this amp because of the 0.1W option on power attenuator and the price.
And I made great decision,
This amp is loud for home use.
Clean tone is perfect, i love it.
It’s incomparable to LT25. Now I understand what tube amp really means :)
Its a great amp for pedal platform
And, it looks amazing.

Doesn't have a lot of features, but i don't mind.
I love simplicity.

5 stars to Thomann, as always

Amazing cheap tube amp
tubesss 15.03.2020
this is my first tube amp and there's a difference between a solid-state and a tube but tbh its not a big difference to my ears, the watt switching is nice in my room I play with 0.5 and when I am in a bigger room I use 5 watts.

Great cheap tube amp
Anonymous 28.03.2015
A great little amp. You'd be surprised how loud this is - on the 1 watt setting with some distortion it's still wall-shaking . I would say this is the ideal candidate if you want a low wattage tube amp for recording and home practice. Don't be put off by the fact that Bugera is owned by Behringer - this is one solid piece of kit. The controls are incredibly simple - just gain, tone, volume and reverb. The digital spring reverb can get a bit silly once you begin to crank it but there's still a very usable range - I leave it around 2 or 3 and it sounds just fine - I don't feel the need to get a reverb pedal. With comparable tube amps I've found the clean tone very lacking e.g. in the Blackstar HT1, but not here. This is definitely not a high gain amp - if that's what you need it for I'd advise either looking elsewhere OR putting a boost or 2 in front of this amp. I prefer getting my dirt from pedals so this was a godsend. One word of warning - this amp is very dark, especially on the wattage attenuated settings (1 watt and 1/2 watt). There's a surprising amount of bass for such a small speaker. I counteract this by using a Boss BD2 as a treble booster. It's definitely not a deal breaker though. The headphone output is useful and I've tried it out a few times, but don't expect anything too good - like most I've tried the sound is a bit distorted and harsh. All in all I heavily recommend this amp - it has all the quality of a Fender, Blackstar or Marshall for a fraction of the price

Good to hear your guitar - in the end I bought a stronger amp and bigger speaker
PE Toulouse 09.08.2019
I bought this amp for our group rehearsals and to play at home. The amp is lovely to hear your guitar - nice tube sound. The overdrive sound is a bit too sharp for my taste, not the rolling warm sound I love. The limit of the 5 Watts shows when you play with band and you want a clean sound. Then you need to turn your gain down and the amp is not loud enough. So the amp is good to play at home or if you always play distorted in a not so loud band. My solution was in the end to buy an Egnater Rebel 20 with the Egnater 112x speaker. I need this because I need to fall in love with my guitar sound (and the others should as well). The V5 is good if you need to hear you guitar without big expectations of a top professional sound.
