Distortion pedal

The Carl Martin Plexitone is a pedal that has been guaranteeing the legendary and unmatched sound of the early Plexis for some time. There have been regular attempts to do this, with mixed results. The Carl Martin Plexitone has risen to the challenge and really sounds very authentic. The Single Channel Plexitone is a stripped down version - let's face it, a real Plexi can almost only be tamed with the volume control on the guitar. Cheaper than its the big brother, it is a true bargain compared to an old Plexi, (and, unlike an old Plexi, it can also be appreciated at civil volumes!)

Good pedal
yeite 29.12.2018
Watched countless demos on YouTube and they sounded all amazing. When I tested the pedal I wasn't that impressed. It's got plenty of gain, but it always sounds with way too much trebel in my opinion, making the sound thin and borderline annoying. I didn't use it as part of my regular set up but have it rather as a backup pedal or something to use at the studio, in case I need to find other sounds. This opinion might be subjective, so I'd suggest you try it out at least!

Ap
small box,big sounds

I already have the bigger version with 2 channels and a boost, but I needed something for my smaller board and this is perfect. Pete Thorns revision is great 2, tighter bottom end and smoother highs and one tone knob which is all you need. More gain than i need, but even on max it doesn't flub out! Well done again Carl martin for a top notch drive pedal.Really solid as well and low noise.

S
Carl Martin Single Channel
Strathead 27.05.2013
All i can say is that it did not suit my vintage Marshall JMP 50
as well as the 3 button version. This was too smooth and lacked
bite and low end i was sorry i sold my original plexitone to buy this
it may suit a fender style amp thats too bright sounding
it did do a good jcm800 tone through
my JMP 50 but my original plexitone sounded like a cranked Plexi
and as the name imply's that's what i was looking for in a smaller box
Carl Martin should voice the small plexitone like the original plexitone
why mess with a winning formula Marshall did that already and ???????
thats why we are here tweaking pedals
if Carl Martin feel like donating an original plexitone
to my just and noble cause (cause i love them)
that would be Wonderful

R
best dist pedal ever
RoadKing 22.10.2017
I finally found my favorite dist pedal. After hours of listening tons of different pedals with the same or higher price range I found the one. My opinion it sounds even better than suhr riot.
