Bought to replace my 1893 model - this one did not need converting to low pitch! Very easy blowing due to its wide bore, which enables fundamentals to be played, very nearly in tune. Very mellow and rich sound, so it doesn't sound like a cornet at all. Rotary valves need a fair amount of oil to keep them working quickly, but using it more would loosen them up more. Very comfortable with it being rotary rather than piston valved. Can't be faulted at all. Thoroughly recommend it.
