I bought this keyboard almost a year ago mainly for studio use. I'm a hardware guy and I'm in a process of buying all remaining hardware gear I need in order to use my PC just as a recording station. I needed a good electro-mechanical emulator, and Nord was my top choice.
First, it is a high quality product, metal housing, excellent knobs and the best keybed for me so far.
It's very easy to use it, it literally took me 3 hours to get used to it the day I unboxed it and today I can just confirm that it's a breeze using it. I can dial very easily anything to get the sound I'm after without any hassle. I'm used to having all knobs right in front of me without any boring meny diving and Nord is all about this philosophy.
I was hesitant about the effects and was afraid if the hammond part wouldn't meet my expectations but the recordings sound fabolous! If you tweak the leslie simulation you can get very pleasant results. The effects are great also and I like the fact that you can add a leslie simulator to a piano sound.
Also, the sampling software is really great to. One of the things I've sampled was Arturia's Mellotron V, added a bit of vibe and tiny bit of speaker emulation on the Nord itself and I just melt everytime I play it, it's that easy to add more sounds to the keyboard.
All in all I'm a very satisfied owner of this keyboard and I'm glad that it is very useful and warm sounding for recordings even trough most people probably buy it for playing live. If you're more of a hands on type of player who likes all of the features ready to be used instantly from the panel then you won't regret buying the Electro 6.
