Crazy Tubes have accurately recreated the punchy hifi sound of a Hi Watt 50/100w and the bite of a Colour Sound Power Boost, all of which capture the sound of a late 60's to mid 70's David Gilmour.
The amp side of the pedal allows you to explore Hi-Watt 50w and 100w heads while the boost side gives you gain settings that go from a mild pre-amp 'break up' to drive and full fuzz.
All the controls interact with each other requiring the user to take the same sensitive approach they would when balancing an amp with effects. The Hi-Power also acts as a fantastic platform for other pedals as well, this is facilitated by the Hi-Powers effects loop. The loop acts as a mid point between the Power Boost and the Amp, similar to placing pedals before the pre-amp stage. The pedal will also allow you to save your settings when powering up and this and other features are explained in detail in the Hi-Power's manual.
Construction and the overall finish of the pedal is first class and takes up little to no room on your pedal board.
Even if you are not a Gilmour or Floyd fan this pedal covers so many bases from early 70's tones to facilitating more modern effects that can be incorporated in the pedals loop.
A great addition to any pedal board.
