This board does exactly what it says it will and if that is what you are looking for you won't be disappointed. I have played piano my whole life and I perform regularly. I needed a new grab-n-go piano. Something light, not too many bells and whistles, just solid piano sounds, and a few vintage key sounds for good measure. This board delivers.
The action is heavy and it will probably require a period of adjustment. However, it's sturdy and built like a tank and makes me feel good every time I play it. It lets me dig into the keys and allows for a more expressive playing experience.
The real treat, however, is the way it sounds. I first played it through studio grade headphones, nice. Then stereo monitors, better. But it wasn't until I played it, mono, through a QSC K10.2 (balanced TRS L/R summed to mono by the speaker) that I was truly blown away. It sounded terrific. I haven't enjoyed the sound of a high end keyboard coming out of a mono amp ever. This just sounded great. Mind you, this is not how it would ideally be played but for most working musicians it is the way it will be used. The two new piano sounds are excellent and as good as advertised.
Simple interface with a fair number of options to tweak/edit sounds. Don't like the noisy pedal sound, dial it down. Need a little more velocity for this particular patch, dial it in. 8 banks with 8 slots for sounds; banks 7 and 8 are set aside for you to fill with your own saved sounds but you can save them to any bank/slot.
Crumar did an excellent job with this board. They didn't over promise anything, just give you exactly what they say they will. The new sampled pianos are great. The modeled tine (rhodes) sound is excellent and offers a great deal of editable parameters. The old vintage sampled electric grands are spot on and if you're into that type of thing you're going to be thrilled. Plus there is always the possibility of more pianos to come (as they update sounds for the Seven they will also be made available for the Seventeen).
She's a keeper.

Elegant sound and feel

The Crumar Seventeen has a beautiful sounding and highly customizable electric piano sound engine. The sound is distinctively detailed, warm, with amazing low-end, and the built-in effects are top-notch especially the Auto-Pan Tremolo and the Chorus that can contribute to a larger than life sounding EP. Several available Amp and EP models can be mix and matched and tweaked to create your own custom EP preset.

Sehr gute Verarbeitung.

Very good workmanship. The perfect combination of vintage and modern technology invites you to play. I bought the piano because the Crumar Seven was too expensive for me and also had too many flashing lights. Connected to the DAW, I have my miracle weapon for all common vintage pianos. But you can also spend many wonderful hours with the Seventeen with headphones and without turning on the whole thing. My favorite sound is still the Wurlitzer preset. Buying an old Wurlitzer used would be too risky for me personally. I recommend purchasing the legs and pedal.

Un piano pour les fan des sons 70-80A piano for fans of 70-80 sounds
HansLip 07.11.2022

Here is an accessible electric/digital piano. This piano is made for lovers of piano sounds from the 70s and 80s. (Rhodes, CP70, CP80, Wurlitzer, etc.). Strong point: Piano sounds that are exceptional! Truly top-notch sound quality. A top Fatar TP100/110 keyboard. The keys don't make much noise. The touch is really very comparable to a good old upright piano. The dynamics are sufficient for my game, but may be lacking for some. Rather very simple ergonomics. No unnecessary flourishes. Everything is accessible directly and quickly. Except for the effects, where the sound must be configured with it. Which can be a bit of a hassle when improvising. A design that remains, for me, really nice. A very low weight of the whole (and this is also a weak point) Weak point: The wood used is of more than doubtful quality. The lightness of this wood says a lot about its quality :(. No lid, although the design is clearly based on the pianos of the time with the integrated flight case.... So all I have to do is make a lid, which will surely weigh more than the piano itself ^^. The sustain pedal not included... For a piano, I find it a little average. In conclusion: This piano is truly excellent. The sounds are just phenomenal. Of exceptional quality. But carrying it around like that without protection, given the quality of the wood, it risks being dangerous. I'm thinking of buying the carrying case for the Seven, which will surely work for the seventeen. In short, a real pianist fan of the 70s and 80s should love it.
