I've always felt that the standard felts under and above the cymbal on the cymbal stand, dampens the sound of the cymbal a bit. Especially when paying soft, but also the actual sustain of the cymbal. After trying these, I was right. the CymPad is a sort of foam-based ring instead of felt. this makes the cymbal ring more freely, and also prolongs (or maybe reveals the proper) sustain and after-tone in the cymbals. I can highly recommend these, as I'm very happy with the results.

I haven't noticed any sonic difference between Cympad and the regular felts on the DW stands. Atleast not in my room. I just wanted to upgrade from felts and have no remorse for doing that.

Très bon produit pour "poser" ses cymbales, matériau agréable; semble atténuer légèrement la puissance des cymbales sans leur ôter leurs caractéristiques par rapport à des feutres "classiques", même si la différence ne m'apparait pas flagrante. En ce qui me concerne, je n'utilise plus que ça depuis des années, mais ça reste à mon sens un accessoire "de luxe", non indispensable.
