The B string is not tapered. The problem is that if you take NYXL45130SL 5-string set, then 5 string simply does not fit into NG/Combustion bridge. Take a set of Daddario NYXL45100SL instead and in addition to it purchase a separate string NYXLB130TSL. T letter is important. It means that the string is tapered at the bridge side and can fit into it.
Soundwise nothing special. I get used to Dingwall Stainless steal strings, so these sound a bit warmer and less agresive in highs. Unfortunately, I cannot compare them with the original dingwall nickel strings, but based on my memories it sounds similar. Will see how long they can last.
