Great sound, bit of trouble fitting
LuxTheSlav 13.06.2020
I use one of these on my 5-string in drop A, I built myself a balanced tension set from it plus EXL170BT (for a 4-string). I went from a .125 that came stock (awful) through a .140 (still not enough) to this and I'm finally satisfied with the tension, feeling and response.
On guitar, I swear by EB strings, but for bass, I love the sound of D'Addario. Very bright and clear. Hopefully they last me a while.
There is one problem though: the ball end is wound so thick (well over the .160 of the body of the string) that no amount of force can make it fit in my bridge. It actually got stuck about 2c from the end and sticks out the back. The tuning is stable though. So bear in mind that you'll most likely have to modify either your bridge or the string.

Solid string for the price

Nice bright string, heavy enough for drop tunings. I use it with my ibanez SR305EB-WK. It can be too big for someone, though. But you should at least definitely try it.

Brilliant.

I ordered one of these for my Ibanez SR305 bass for playing in drop G#. I'd struggled to find a gauge to suit the low tuning, until now. They tension feel great and they sound fantastic. My only gripe is that the end of the string near the ball end isn't tapered down so it made fitting it a real pain. I found myself filing it down substantially to fit in my 305 bridge. Don't know how much this would be an issue on other basses.
Apart from that I'd highly recommend these

Good sound, long life

Excellent bright and full sound (even dropped to A). feels nice and tight and gives me a solid pick attack and stability for tremolo picking. For me these also have been the longest lasting strings i've tried yet, tho they do lose brightness over time. Conclusion: Solid strings, gonna keep using these for a while if not forever.

Great Strings
Anonymous 03.04.2016
I play mainly Drop Ab and these strings hold their tension incredibly well. I have a Harley Benton 5 String which is a great guitar but doesnt have the slace length that I am usually used to. However these strings at .160 gauge still seem to be able produce a tight low end that doesnt end up flubby and unmanageable.

As well as the sound I also love the feel of the strings, bear in mind they are huge, the are very thick (obviously as .160 guage!) but they still feel easy to play, I did have to raise the action slight on the top string to accommodate them though.

All in all, very good strings, I would definitely reccomend!.
