Blue Steel all the way? Maybe!

I have tested quite a lot of strings for my Spector Rebop. Although I am not starting the name calling, I have to say, that in matters of sound and feeling these strings were ranging to be the best I have ever had. Very brilliant highs, growling low end, punching mids. Great for fingerstyle and slapping. The experienced one will know, that TM Stevens uses these strings for decades. But every rose has its thorns. After a few weeks of playing, I noticed a lack of brilliance, which is not unnatural, but soon the punch faded, too, and subspequently I lost the D-string as it broke down in rehearsal. This can happen of course. Overall I have to say, for people who are ok to change strings once a month, these strings could be top of the pops. They are not that expensive, too. But for me, it was not ok, to lose a string that "fast". But this is subjective, since I now tend to use thicker strings. Give 'em a try!

So far sounding great

I put these strings on my squire Jazz bass and they have given it a nice rocky gritty sound when played with a pick. These strings are bright but without being too thin sounding. Time will tell how long they stay sounding like this but based on other peoples reviews they should last a while.

So it was that time of year to change the strings on my bass :) I decide to try these for the first time. Not my favorite but still quite happy with them.
