I've been using this mouthpiece for several months now and have almost completely switched to it as my main mouthpiece.
Pros:
The wider rim is very comfortable and the gold plating feels much nicer as compared to the silver mouthpieces I've had in the past.
Having tried it with a number of trumpets including the Thomann TR 500 S, Yamaha Bobby Shew, and a range of old Besson and Selmer trumpets I was not let down in any of the setups. It was compatible with all of them, which is to be expected.
I have had no issues with creating a 'smokey jazz' sound or a vibrant tone on and can easily change between the two during my playing.
In the middle and high range (up to D above high C) it allows me to have a full tone and play effortlessly. I also noticed my endurance in the higher range is better too.
Cons:
Took a little while to get used to initially, especially when playing anything below the staff, notes can sound flat and takes some time to find a good tone center. But this can vary with the trumpet you may be using. When compared to the Yamaha 14A4a mouthpiece this isn't as responsive in the lower range.
Would definitely recommend this mouthpiece for jazz playing. However, your mileage may vary as mouthpieces can be a very personal preference.
