I use the twister to control 1-2 instruments/channels/racks in ableton and it just works..


Pros:

- Very simple 1 color + 1 value per knob style makes it easy and fast to design midi/instrument mapping setups.

- Works great with Ableton live out of the box with the regular midi mapping mode (no scripts or m4l) and correctly displays the value coming from live as well.

- It stands firmly on slippy surfaces which not all medium/small sized controllers do.


Cons:

- The configuration software is a bit buggy, especially when modifying several knobs at once. It's just a bit tedious to work with at times, the end result is the same.

- On my unit one of the knobs has a slightly different twist resistance than the others but not enough to be a real problem. I guess that the resistance will even out after a few months of use.

Smart, but simple device. Finally, I found device with many knobs and nothing else.

They are not just knobs, actually, because it's a buttons too.

Very handy device in any studio. Build quality is good, everything works perfectly and immediate. You get slightly more than what you see but you don't to learn this device. Just twist!

I really don't understand why other manufacturers don't try to compete with this product spec - it's ideal.

I've used this for touring & studio use for several years - it's light, reliable, really programmable, looks cool, *feels* great and packs a lot of functionality.

The editor software is a little fiddly, but I've used far worse.

Cons: It could be cheaper and the side function buttons are quite hard to access

Highly recommended, nonetheless.

Midi Fighter Twister is a great flexible knob-based controller that i have used for FX and sequencer. I received the product within 15 days and i have been glued to this controller since then. Now that i have used this product, I'd love to buy another to dedicate it to control Traktor sequencer for remix decks. Rightly said, "These are NOT your average knobs."

Useful controller for knob freaks

I love my Twister, especially for live performances and in combination with a launchpad, it gives you all the control to tweak your sound to your audience on the fly. Also, since it's a class compliant device, you can use it to control other stuff like lightroom with a bit of hacking :) build quality is great, lots of modding options. If there's one downside is that the control software on windows is fickle

I mainly use as usb controller over ableton DAW to control allover parameters. i also enjoy to use as a "usb mixer" to have a quick control over volumes. the unit is build like a thank, it feels very solid even if it's a light weight controller, also the touch feel of knobs is amazing! love the smooth material used. the software to configure the midi fighter is very easy to use and to configure, allow the use to make it's very personal and unique controller ready for any kind of set up. the only thing i don't like much since i have set up many configuration at once, is that i have to remember all the side button combination to change settings. beside this the controller is perfect! being also so small and portable is a big plus for small studio or even for travelling.

Might not be the cheapest controller for what it does, but it is really well made. Solid contruction, nice rubbery knobs. The included SW is nice and easy to use. Been using with Ableton Live at home, would have no hesitations on taking it on tour. Really sweet little controller. Good value.
