lets be honest. we buy these neon strings only for their neon glow. otherwise there are match better strings to choose from.
these set of whites it seems beeter than the yellow i have tried before. they have a smooth feeling on your fingers same as the yellow and seem to give more options in their sound. they have a good bright sound but allso give a warm and deeper when its needed. the most important, so far they dont have any sign of loosing their neon glow colour ( which is the main reason someone would buy them i believe) while the yellow set started faded after 3 - 4 hours of playing. also their life span is not too short but neither too long.
overall as i said if you want to make your bass look beautiful or more beatuful than how it looks with common strings get your matching colour set. if not, you have many options of better sounding strings and in more reasonable price.

looks over quality?

To my own surprise, no. Definitely not.
While most people would buy them for the looks, they actually sound good too. It's DR quality but with a very nice colour touch. I had these on my fretless just to try and they have plenty of top end yet don't lose any low end in the process. Are there better strings for fretless? Obviously. But this is nice if you want to try something different.
I don't play with a pick often, but even that doesn't degrade the whiteness of the strings and they remain good-looking under black lights.
I'm going to try the green ones next.
I'd love to try the other colours as well as the 5-6 string sets for my other basses, but unfortunately Thomann doesn't offer those yet.
