DrumDial Digital Drum Tuner

I am hearing impaired and I've always struggled a little with tuning, as my ears have a hard time discerning the subtle differences between tension rods when tuning manually. This product makes it an absolute doddle. It takes some getting used to, as sometimes when you alter one tension rod, it affects the others next to it, so you have to go back and double check, but you soon pick it up. I never used to look forward to reskinning my entire kit, but this has made it a stress-free experience and my drums have never sounded so good.

Drum tuning used to be my least favourite thing with playing drums.
I borrowed a DrumDial from a friend and was amazed how easy it is to use and how good the results sound.
I prefer the digital version to the analogue, where you need to line up perfectly with the dial to get an accurate reading.
This version of the digital dial has a light, and measures in 1/2 steps, which is not the case with the previous version of the digital dial, so be careful which version you get.

I am one of those drummers who doesn't enjoy tuning his drums.
So, naturally I hoped that the drumdial would save me time and make my drums sound better.

In short, it didn't. I guess it might be of help for someone new, but I still think the learning curve of using it efficiently is high.
I ended up not using it at all (after my first try), and found some new enjoyment in tuning my drums by ear.
So, I guess it helped me in a way. :)

It's so easy to use and the included tuning guide makes for a fantastic sounding drum kit! You will not regret getting this.

Yes, I know you are supposed to tune by ear. But how to learn? Well how about using the Drum Dial as a teaching aid, whilst getting your drums in tune. My drums now sound much better having used their suggested tensions. The dial is easy to use. Remember to check all the tension rods as changing one has an affect on the rest.

Use the needle version and never have problem but I bought this one to have a little more convinience in numerical recall. It is more precision and handy because it comes with the hard case.

Not much to say, this is a solid gear.

You have to learn to tune manualy, is good like a refference, maybe...
