Ok, so at first I was very sceptical when I saw these on youtube etc, though meh, just another pick, Petrucci uses them, bla bla, kids are going to die for these. But, I decided to try them out. So far I have usually been using 1mm Dunlop Jazz 3 and previous Petrucci signature pick, but not as much as Jazz 3.
Grip:
This pick, I haven't read a specification, but it's coated with some material which is very smooth but it doesn't slip in fingers at all. I'm very suprised how this pick works regarding that.
Tone and Playability:
In general, I have been using 1mm picks most of the time, since I liked a bit more "sharper" attack from them, when picking really hard. This pick is much bigger, but I found out that it's just running through the strings like hot knife through butter! My sweep arpegios and fast runs are sound even better and smooth, if I was to rate in numbers, 20-30% smoother and cleaner. I even had recordings before and after, and this pick just helps a lot. It's tone is a bit rounder, not as bright as Jazz 3, but I kinda start to like it. They are rounded around the edges, so they're not getting "caught up" between the string wound, thus much faster playing and smoother. Especially if you're using thicker strings like I do (11- 64).
Durability:
When recording a song or just jamming, In general I burn through at least 2 - 3 picks in few hours (jazz 3 picks). I pick very hard and sometimes very fast, and they get dull easily. I've been playing Flow pick for few days, I guess more than 10-12 hours of playing in total, and I'm still using the first pick I took from the bag. And it's still rounded and pointy as first day. I don't know what magic is there, but it's awesome.
So there you go, as a person that usually doesn't buy bullshit marketing stuff, I am converted into full time using these picks. Just try them out, maybe they change your life too!
