Intermediate harmonics
Benjamin I. 25.06.2018
The 0.60mm gives more high harmonics, the 1mm gives less, the .073mm is in-between. Depending if you want more of a lead sound or a rhythm sound. The 1mm is great for fat metal tones, the 0.60mm is neat for playing without the amp (I know it's a sin), the extra harmonics let you hear yourself better.

But the 0.73 does everything well, when in doubt use that thickness. I had only the 0.60 stuck between three guitar strings, but now I also slide a 0.73 on the other three strings. Easiest way to change the tone without touching the knobs.

Next time I will also order triangular 0.73's for my bass. I don't know a more rigid and more glassy material than Ultex for picks. I have one in my pocket all the time together with coins, never seems to wear out or get scratched. It does lose elasticity after a couple months, like all the others, that's why we buy them in packs.

Good "mediums!"
CaveatEmptor 13.09.2020
I have been using Fender picks for (too many) years and I've found especially for bass playing that their mediums are too flimsy to get the right kind of attack and sound for my style of play, and the heavies are too stiff. So, I bought some of these on a buddy's recommendation and yeah, definitely satisfactory picks. They're sturdier than the Fenders without being overly stiff or unwieldy, and let they me dig in properly. I was a bit concerned that the form factor is too small relative to the Fenders but it hasn't been a problem adapting.

One of the Best Hybrid Picks
Peter1189 15.07.2019
The quality of these picks is great. Grip is good and the durability is great also.

For me these picks have the ideal combination of stum and soloing if you want both on one pick.

Perfect for electric
Anonymous 04.06.2016
These are OK for acoustic - I prefer the tortex or nylon for that, but for electric picking these are superb.
They have a lovely "clicky" attack, very positive, and very little flex. These or the tortex 88 are my favorite picks for electric at the moment.
Grip is not fantastic, these are quite smooth, so if you have sweaty paws these might not suit you. Quality is great, a pack of six will last you a good while.
Great stuff.

Multi Functional Picks

I use these picks to this day as a "jack of all trades", with acoustic and electric guitars, as well as electric bass.

Pros: Very versatile and durable, good mix of note definition and flex.

Cons: Some players might find these picks to be a little slippery if they have sweaty hands, luckily that's not my case.

The Pick of choice
Anonymous 20.12.2016
I gotta say, Dunlop have hit it out of the park with this one. As someone who has a been known to dabble in the world of plectrums. Words failed to describe my emotions when I opened up a packet of these bad boys last Tuesday.

The Ultex 421 0.73 is my pick of choice as the grippy material makes sweat induced pick drops a thing of the past.

As for durability, Have no fear. i said the only proper test of a picks durability is to play master of puppets strait for 48 hours and then we'll see what these picks are truly made of. I'm proud to say at the end of that endeavor it was my fingers that were shredded. And the pick looked at me and said "is that all you got bruh?"

Finally when is comes to quality I don't stand for second best and neither should you. Ultex 421 Pick a winner

Dunlop Ultex 421 0.73
Warren T. 26.01.2014
The Dunlop Ultex pick seemed to have a slightly more crisp sound to it. I thought the material was close to the sound from your finger nail. I rather this material than the normal plastic picks used by most people.

I was happy with my purchase!

Very awkward feel
DT1980 02.02.2018
The durability of the plectrum is very good, but the feel is very awkward. Very poor grip and simply not pleasant to hold.
