This hi-hat stand disappointed me a bit, for it's lack of stability on the floor. The only way to stabilise it is through nailing it to the floor, which can be difficult in different situations while setting it up on tour or even at home...
On the other hand, I chose it because it's very light weight and I'm totally satisfied by it. Perfect for travelling light on tour!

DW 6500UL HI HAT STAND
Anonymous 29.01.2017
Bought for two reasons - Lightness and Retro Look to fit gretsch 1940's kit
Unbelievalbly light - complete set of 3 cymbal stands/ hhat/ drum stand leaves room for stick bag & stool in Smallest Protection Rackest Accessories case -easily carried
Action good, tension easily adjustable, Offsset base looks a little odd but obviously a compromise to keep weight down.
Cymbal tilt adjustment a bit basic but works OK for my Jazz needs - might not be as good for rock or disco.
Adjustment of tripod legs critical for stbility - Relatively OK on solid floors or drum mat - But not good on domestic or pub carpets!
The floor area taken up by my new set up has substantially reduced.
I can't yet comment on durability

Vintage Look
William5013 12.04.2017
+ The High Hat machine is really fitting to my vintage drumset.
- The high hat wobbles back and forth at the top bit, but that?s ok. Flat Legs.
- The high hat cymbals could be allowed to open a bit more, the pedal does not move up and down very far.
-- The pedal base is made of plastic, I wonder how long before it will break.
Anyway, I am still happy with it.
