Probably not best strings for recording unless out from the box, but they are perfect for long practice hours. The 80/20 are good !

Very good

Very good strings. I've been using them a while almost everywhere. They have a nice, natural sound which i like very good and are really robust. I think I'll have them on my guitar for some time. They look like new, and they are 6 months old.

good but ...
Dapapa 13.12.2018
These are decent strings but far from inspiring. They are too slippery under the fingers and seem life-less in tone. Sure they do project and play loud but Im just missing overtones from these coated strings. I can only recommend these to people playing loud gigs but not for those recording in a studio.

To E or not to E? That is the question.

Yes they last longer than a VW Beetle but they are so, so expensive! The trade off is that they lose some mid-range punch, because of the coating I presume. I get two packs of Ernie Ball's for one of these, so until I start sweating like Mike Tyson and melt my strings, or until they drop a little in price I'm with Ernie!

Elixir Nanoweb

at first you may find the "slippery" feel of this set a bit annoying, but this feeling will disappear as soon as you make your first "strum". They sound amazing with just the right amount of wormth.
yes, it is not even close to being cheap, but it will save you a the price of at least three sets as those strings really do last around three times more than almost any competitor.
Elixir continues to impress :D

Longer lifetime
Anonymous 22.05.2015
Great if you are a working guitarist and don't like changing strings as often. Their coating is making them sound similar for longer time, that sound however is a bit duller than the sound of fresh non coated strings, so if you need super crisp and bright sound of fresh new strings for studio recording, you can get by by buying cheaper strings.

Best acoustic strings
Jason4777 27.08.2013
I have used many types and gauges of strings and although Elixir's are a bit more pricey than some other popular brands they really stand out from many. As with many strings when you first use them you find you need to slightly tune your guitar for a couple of days. Elixir's have a crisp well toned sound and do last much longer than a cheaper string. I always use these now as simply love the sound that they produce.
The box says they last up to 5 times more, which I would probably have to agree.
In fact I have never broken a Elixir sting while play. Great string, Highly recommonded.
