This is an interesting product. I have it on one Jackson guitar. The sound is not so noisy when is not pushed too far. There is quite an increase in amplification, and there is no need for it, more than a third or so, in volume turn. The thing I don't like is that this feature is to be used on the fly, during a solo part or such, and the fact that I have to PULL the volume knob prevents me to use it in a fast way. Moreover, when grabbing the knob, there is a good chance that I move the volume set, so the sound is not as expected. Sometimes I get feedback because of this. I have mixed feelings about this thing...
