Bought this as a replacement in an old Peavey Envoy amplifier.
I was surprised with the new sound, much more meaty and rich then the original stock speaker. Clear and articulate in the high frequency's, maybe a tad muffled sound in the lower. But that can be from the guitar and/or pedal settings as well.
A quality build. It helps to avoid breaking speaker elements that my amp is 40 watt and the Ramrod is rated 75 watt, usually I don't need to go passed 3 on the master volume for most occasions with this setup. Leaving plenty of headroom. I play mostly rock, blues, reggae and are very satisfied with the sound.
All in all a great upgrade.
Be aware that this has a big magnet and as a consequence the weight of my guitar amp has doubled.

upgrade fender super champ 2x
James8936 20.05.2015
I fitted the Eminence Ramrod speaker to my super champ to give it a bigger sound without having to move to 12" speakers. I am using the amp for gigs and found it to quiet against the rest of the band. The ramrod is very efficient and you would think you are playing through a 12". Loads of top end and strong bass but the latter took some days playing to come in. First time I've experienced breaking in a speaker. Tonally it is great but maybe a little hard for some. I like that as it cuts through the mix. After all it is only a 20w amp.
