The finish is almost impeccable. You would need to use a magnifier (and would the effort be worth?) to find anything. Even the f-holes are well painted.
This guitar is a beauty, of course. The colour might be pretty normal for this type, but it is impressingly beautiful and classic and never becomes boring.
Technically, good hardware, the guitar remains in tune (after it has accomodated itself to my home). Potis feel good and work fine. The weight is still acceptable.
As regards the sound, I find this a very mellow instrument. I am sure you can play hard-rock with this, if you want (I hardly do distortion beyond a mild crunch, thus I cannot really judge). Resonates well without an amp.
I have the impression that Epiphone has made a really good job with their "Inspired by Gibson" series.
